Bad policy on Due Dates
“ Gas South changes their due dates every month causing late fees if you do not notice it. I was told by CS that the bills are sent when Atlanta Gas Light reads the meter. That is fine but the due date should always be the same day. Last month mine was due 5 days earlier than the previous month, causing my payment to be late. Gas South needs to amend their automated billing to make the due date the same day regardless of when the bill is sent. Most people get paid the same day each month and pay their bills on that day or automate bill payments based on that paycheck date. This moving of due dates by Gas South will always make customers late on their payments and shows Gas South is completely out of touch with the majority of its customer base and their financial setup. ”

“ I renewed my budget billing monthly rate and have receipts/proof for a different lower amount than gas south is charging me and the will not honor what they initially told me (with proof) as of today 12/31/2020 and have they have no walk-in location open for me to show them proof and I had to fax and email them ”

Easy billing system, Good customer service
“ I signed up for their 6 month fixed plan. This was the most economical route for me as I am only in the area temporarily. The person who helped me set up my service (Sandra, if i remember correctly) was very helpful in finding me the best deal possible. The online billing system is easy to use, and great for those who prefer the environment friendly paperless option. ”

Not a bad service
“ We ordered them when we moved into our home and they delivered our service very timely. We receive paperless billing which is quite a convenience for us. We also have the fixed rate service which we enjoy having because it allows us to budget well. The price is not high and we haven't had a problem yet. ”

Good for Budget Conscious Consumers
“ Setting up my initial service was easy and the technician arrived on time. After receiving a few unusually high bills I decided to sign up for budget billing. The budget plan keeps my gas bill from fluctuating so I never have any unpleasant surprises when the bill is due. My only complaint is with customer service since not all of the representatives seem knowledgeable. When the gas connection to my stove broke and I needed to have the line checked it took me a while to convince the representative to send a technician from the gas company after they insisted I call an appliance repair person. ”

Not so happy
“
Checking the prices and signing up was easy. They came out very quickly to switch the service on. However I have 2 points I would like to mention:
1) my first month billing cycle was 3 days only. The gas for 3 days cost me $3, and the 'monthly charge' was $8.99 - that's a bit of a piss take because they most probably charged the previous tenant in this house the same $8.99 for the partial month, so basically they got the monthly charges twice.
2) when I was searching for a gas provider, they had the prices displayed, however they never mentioned that switching on the service costs $60, which was added to my second bill - not even the first one.
Other than these they're OK. ”
