Today the kicker was when I had to renew my fixed gas contracts with Georgia Natural Gas ® for my home and business because the 12 month fixed contracts end 5/31/22 with Georgia Natural Gas ®. I called today because they sent me a notice ( several times at the start of April and every day this week) stating its time to RENEW for the next 12 months. Not only did the rate increase 25% more, but they are starting my new rate today not after 5/31/22 when the old contract ends. Then after i confirmed the contract and its changes, I was told the fee is effective immediatley AND there's an EARLY TERMINATION FEE of $100 per account for changing contracts. The first person told me if she wrote a note they MAY waive the fee. She also said she was going to send me emails for both confirming our conversation. I was also told at 1:00pm she was sending those emails to me. Of course 5 hours later, no email. I called back at 545 pm and I was told by yet a different agent, that it is the policy of Georgia Natural Gas ® to charge the termination fees and raise the rate on the day you renew the contract, and not on the day the old contract ends. I asked was I supposed to wait until the June 1 after it expired to renew? Why did you send me emails daily? Why did you not tell me this before I accepted a new contract and you dropped the 2 others?? Then i would have had to wait to change from the variable rate which is > 35% more than I already pay per therm. It takes hours to get them onthe phone and do this and i guess they expect us not to work and take our time off to do this!! NOPE they take $$ and DO NOT CARE!! And now I'm locked into 24 months more or Ill have to pay $200 per account to change it!! OMG!!!!!

Double Charged by Stream Energy

My bill has been out of wack since I started service. I've really never paid much attention to my bill, but no matter how much I paid it never seem to come down.
during the pandemic I fell behind, due to UI benefits not being paid properly, three or 4 months of not getting paid then getting it all at once. I paid what I could but that wasn't good enough. after our UI benefits were cut off I had only my SSDI to live on, my rent cost 875 and bills for gas 150 electric 150 water 150 what was left was very little to buy food I made a payment of 150 on April 1st 2022 a week later my gas was shut off I couldn't understand why my gas was shut off I though I was paying my bill with enough to start bring down my past due I never realized I was paying two bills one to stream and the other two Atlanta Gas and Light seems steam gas is a complete rip off they purchase the gas thru Atlanta Gas and Light then not only charge you for the gas but also charges you for their bill to Atlanta Gas and Light but at no time was I made aware of this even when I had spoke I was never made aware that I was also paying Atlanta Gas and Light when talking to the rep from stream I question why if I'm being charged by Atlanta Gas and Light why am I being charge by Stream he said no your being bill by us and also by Atlanta Gas and Light for what if the gas is being provided by Atlanta Gas and Light what services are the providing that no one in their right mind would pay 148.60 now I am a single guy live on my own and try to keep things at a minimum what I'm being charged is out rages and dishonest it's a scam and costing the people hundred if not thousands of dollars of their hard earned money no more tell Georgia to get rid of these companies need proof I've the got it.

These are Atlanta Gas and Light charges as follows

For a grand total of 161.93
These charges are reduculess for a single guy and showed I'm being charged double ”

“ You are charging more for the monthly fee than described in your ad. You are charging me over $47/month just in pass through charges. This is outrageous. And gas south is also still charging me for service. ”

Untruthful in their service!
“ I change to your company because I thought it was a good idea. Your first bill charged me $12.95 for "Heat Protection", a service I did not agree to purchase. After multiple attempts, the first bill was corrected and the charges reversed. I received the third bill today and yet again I was charged last month and again this month. I want a full refund for the $12.95 for the last two months and this charge to not show up on my bill ever again. ”

They canceled our account ONE day after we opened it up, charged us all these fees and then turned off our gas
“ I wish I found this website before we opened this account. This has been THE worst customer service experience I have ever had with any utility company. EVER. We just bought a house and opened our account with GNG. The next day, the previous owners called to cancel their account. Well, GNG decided to cancel our account instead ONE day after we opened it. They had all of our banking info and just charged us an early termination fee. Because we had it on auto pay we had no idea this happened. Sure, it was on the bill in tiny print at the bottom of the bill. Then eventually our gas was turned off. Funny thing? They didn't have a problem charging our banking account as usual. So two days before New Year's Eve, we have no gas, no heat, no cooking. I'm an ER nurse and can't even decontaminate after work unless I want to take a cold shower. They made me open a new account and promised credits to my account. Guess what? So far, no credits. I'm literally on hold RIGHT NOW with GNG...for over 45 minutes waiting to ask where my credits are..credits for the early termination fee (that I never terminated), and 3 connect fees...After this contract, I'm DONE. Never ever would recommend this company. ”

Do not choose gas south
“
Update 1/9: Was told repeatedly could not over me lower than $0.63 per therm for my contract expiring the 31st. After making me feel like I had no other options and renewing, now they're advertising $0.59 and $0.63 rates. STAY AWAY from this company.
Update 12/23: Have had over 10 emails with them. They will not price match other companies low rates, and they have higher service fees than other companies in area. Plus, my last email I asked a question and got a response saying they had renewed my plan!?
UPDATE: Emailed the email they said below on 23rd, no response..
We loved Infinite Energy and now it has clearly been bought out by money hungry individuals. Not looking forward to finding a new gas company when our current rate from Infinite Energy runs out in December. The prices from Gas South are outrageous. Shame on you. ”

I have worst experiences with Georgia Natural Gas ® , After I gave my credit card for automatic payment, they still end me bill saying I was late paying bill , I had to call several times and waited for a long time to talk to somebody. They repeated the same mistakes several times . Lately has been charging my gas rate at higher rate . Last but not least , today I received bill saying late charge added ? If you the one who takes automatic payment from my credit card, how could I ll be late paying bill ? Doesnt make any sense . I am ready to move on to others company. Georgia gas is the worst company that I ever deal with. Nothing like this ever happened to me dealing with any company.

1.I had to call several times to tell your company that my bill will be automatic charges to my credit card , instead sending bill . Few times you send bill and charge late fees for something you are in control.
2. You charge me at the highest rate for several months.
3. Last bill you charge again late fee, for something you are in control to collect and processed payment.
4. Worst customer service , seem like no one knows whats going on . It took many repetitions to get thing Wright . Then , the mistake repeated itself like charging late fee. For automatic payment ? ”

Predator company
“ I had never had issues with utility companies until I had trouble with gas south. After leaving them I swore I would never do business with them again. Then Gas South bought my existing energy company and the underhanded tactics were started. I had a season plan with bills around 130. My final bill jumped 400 dollars. When I did not pay immediately, my gas was disconnected (it was scheduled to be turn off at this time) and I was charged additional fees. I was told by there legal department I had a final amount. I paid the inflated final amount. two days later I was sent an additional bill and I am still being billed. Gas South is a terrible company. ”
