Beware of Gas South

  We had Gas South service at our business for several years and the bills were mostly consistent and then we received a bill that was triple. We called customer service and they said it was because our contract had expired. At the time we did not want to go through the process of finding service elsewhere so we signed a new contract. A year later we sold the business and I contacted Gas South and let them know that the our business no longer existed and to send me a final bill, which they did. Shortly there after they sent a bill for a $950 disconnect fee. I called them several times to let them know that the business no longer existed and there were no funds. They decided to hold us personally responsible for the fee and hired a ruthless collection agency to go after us. We were then hit by two subsequent hurricanes here in Florida and I called Gas South to see if they would give us any relief. After numerous calls they finally agreed to reduce the fee to $500, which based on our current financial situation due to the hurricane is a huge burden, but they only cared about getting their money. They are a multi billion dollar company and the $500 is inconsequential to them but means a lot to us. They don't care. If you have any other choice, do not buy gas from this company, in the end they will rip you off.

  Comparisons of natural gas marketers are based on therms and typically Xooms rates are appealing however their hidden junk fees , vague billing statements and terrible customer service negate any savings.

Bait & Switch

  Bait & Switch - Stream promised a rebate of the switching fees from Xoom (who gave good rates and excellent services) - but when I submitted the final bill from Xoom (which took two months to receive) they said they would not honor the rebate because they didn't receive it in the allotted time frame. This was delivered via email after a customer service person on the phone confirmed the rebate was valid. BEWARE!

Refund due me of 166.26 on 6/3/24 said I would receive my money in 4 to 6 weeks on 7/14/24 they told me they need my address again and said it will be another 4 to 6 weeks before I get my money back BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM STREAM. On 7/14/24 I filed a complaint with Georgia Attorney General Office.

  Stream owes me 166.26 on 6/3/24 they said I would receive my money in 4 to 6 weeks I called to check on status 7/14/24 and stream said they need my mailing address and said it would be a other 4 to 6 weeks. Please people stay away from Stream Energy.

  My auto pay has been ON but they still charge me for late fee and request me to pay installation deposite.

We are sorry to hear this. If you have set up autopay through your bank, you may need to check the draft date to avoid the late fee. If you set up through our online services, please call us at 1.877.467.2262 so we may review. A deposit would only be required if you were disconnected and there was not a deposit on the account. Representatives are available Monday - Friday 7am - 8pm and Saturday 8am- 5pm.
