Sweet Deals for Long Term Natural Gas Plans

A sweet long term gas plan is one that grabs onto a low rate and fills your goody bag with savings.
Treat yourself to these spook-tacular deals that fill your goody bag with the best long term gas savings!

Looking for a spook-tacular way to save on your energy bills this Halloween season? Atlanta residents can rest easy knowing there’s nothing scary about locking in a long term natural gas plan. With a 60% chance of la Niña this winter, we could be looking at warmer than average weather. But even so, when your heaters are running, natural gas savings are always a sweet deal. Avoid the fright of fluctuating rates and enjoy steady pricing for as long as three years. So, let’s go trick or treat for long term deals.

Trick or Choose a 24 Month Plan

These 24 month plans are better than candy. Let’s check out the details.

Firstly, the Constellation 24 Month Home Natural Gas Plan has a $0.649 per therm rate. There is also a $7.95 monthly charge and a $150 ETF. With this plans, you also get water heater protection ($142 value) free.

Next is the Georgia Natural Gas® 24 Month plan at $0.659 per therm. The monthly charge is $8.99-$9.99. The ETF starts at $200 then drops by $50 each six months.

On to the Xoom Energy SureLock 24 plan at $0.699 per therm. It has a $150 ETF but the monthly charges is just $5.85.

Finally for this round, it’s the Gas South 24 Month Fixed at $0.750 per therm. The monthly charge is $6.95-$9.95 and the ETF is $150. As a bonus, this natural gas supplier offers a $50 bill credit and does not collect a deposit, which keeps up to $150 in your pocket.

Now, let’s look at the estimated costs for each plan over two years. This includes the monthly charges, bill credits, and average annual usage of 613 therms per year.

    • Constellation: $986.47
    • Xoom Energy: $997.37
    • Georgia Natural Gas®: $1047.69
    • Gas South: $1108.30

The difference between the most expensive and least expensive plan is about $120. Additionally, the cheaper monthly charge for Xoom Energy brings the total cost down despite a higher per therm rate.

Nothing Spooky About 36 Month Plans

Are 36 month plans even sweeter? Let’s find out.

Firstly it’s the Scana Energy 36 Month plan at $0.659 per therm. There is a $6.95 monthly charge and $300 ETF. At 613 therms per year for three years, the estimated costs are $1462.10.

Finally, it’s the Constellation 36 Month Home Natural Gas Plan at $0.659 per therm. The monthly charge is $7.95 and the ETF is $150. However, for 613 therms per year over three years, the estimated costs here comes to $1498.10.

So, the difference between these two plans is only about $36. But, when you average costs out per month, the Scana Energy plan comes out as the cheapest. But keep in mind that this plan has a high ETF of $300, making it less flexible. If you know you can lock into a three year plan, I would go with the Scana Energy plan. However, if you need more flexibility, go with a lower ETF.

For some boys and ghouls, three year terms can feel like being buried in a grave commitment. Don't worry! The trick to this treat is knowing what works for you. So, grab your plan today at https://www.georgiagassavings.com.
