      Pre-Pay is a great option for anyone on a budget or who has credit challenges. Simply "pre-pay" each month for the expected cost of your gas service, and GNG will apply the difference to your bill the next month. This is a variable price plan where your price per therm may change or remain the same each month. No deposit is required for this plan, but an initial prepayment for your first month is needed before your service can begin. After the first 6 months on this plan, if at this point you have timely payment history, you'll receive a $3.00/bill credit as long as you stay on a pre-pay plan and maintain timely payment history. You can change to another price plan after 12 consecutive months of timely payments.

      1. Total Amount Due: The total of all your Atlanta Gas Light charges. Current charges, credits, and any remaining balances from previous Atlanta Gas Light bills. This is what you owe.
      2. Dedicated Design Day Capacity: This is the space reserved on the pipes for you on the pipeline so that you get gas service.
      3. Usage CCF: Amount of gas used.
      4. BTU Factor: Heat Energy in natural gas. You multiply this number by the CCF used to get the actual energy usage, which is the Therms.
      5. Therms: Amount of natural gas you're consuming.
      6. Natural Gas Consumption Charge: Your gas rate multiplied by the numner of therms you used.
      7. Customer Service Charge: Monthly charge which covers account maintainence and services rendered to the customer.
      8. AGL Pass-Through Charges: What Atlanta Gas Light charges for maintaining the infrastructure you use to recieve natural gas. Pipelines, meter readings, etc.

      Choosing an Atlanta natural gas plan in can feel tricky with all the different providers competing for your business. Therefore, the Georgia PSC publishes rates to compare to help sort through the options each month. However, this rate sheet can be overwhelming if you don’t know what to compare or even what to shop for. This is because there are many variables— all those rates, fees, and promotions. We all want the best fit for our needs and budget but how do you even get started? Well, just keep it simple and begin by comparing our four recommended Atlanta gas plans.

      Compare the Four Recommended Gas Plans to Shop

      This month, the four recommended plans showcase a variety of offers. Comparing these options helps you see what is available so you can feel confident in your choice.

      Kicking things off, we have the Constellation 24 Month Home Natural Gas Plan with a $0.639 per therm rate. The monthly charge is $7.95 and the ETF is $150. This is a great low rate and you lock it down for two years.

      Next up is the Constellation 12 Month A/C Protect Plus. The rate is slightly higher at $0.649 per therm. On the other hand, the monthly charge is lower at $6.95 and the ETF is steady at $150. This plan includes water heater protection ($71 value) at no cost and optional A/C protection for $19.95 per month.

      For a shorter term option, check out the Georgia Natural Gas® 6 Month Fixed. The rate is $0.719 per therm, a 10¢ discount for new customers only. The monthly charge is $6.99-$7.99. The ETF is $50 but only applies in the first three months of the contract. Finally, you can get up to $200 in contract exit fees.

      Rounding out the group of recommended plans is the Xoom Energy RescueLock 12 at $0.749 per therm. The monthly charge is the lowest at $5.85 and the ETF is also lower at $100 for a 12 month term. With this plan, 5% of your monthly energy charges go to PetSmart Charities®.
