     I signed up on Dec. 23 or something like that. I was told my new service would start the next month. It didnt start until Feb. my bill with my former company was really high but Ive gotten it covered and my new bill will be smaller. I appreciate the eventual help I got. Like I said it was hard and confusing but still good. Thank you everyone that helped me!

    I should have listened to the negative reviews

     I am a new customer to Xoom. I contacted the company about my first bill I received that was for only 2 service days. Starting 9/1 ending 9/3. They charged me the full AGL base passthrough fee of $28 dollars for only 2 service days. When I inquired why my first bill would only be for 2 days or why they could not prorate/credit my bill they said Sorry. Our system automatically starts new service dates on 1st of each month. Okay no problem, but if they know new service starts on the first why would they have their billing system setup to end statements on the 3rd of each month? This means each new customer gets charged the full AGL passthrough fee for only an initial 2 day service period. Seems like a scam and a rip off too me. They tried to tell me it all had to do with the day the meter was read. Okay fine too, but charging people a full base fee for only a 2 day service bill is unethical at best.

    Scana Treats Veterans Like Trash

     Scana Energy is a nightmare to deal with. My disabled veteran father had Scana Energy and was planning to switch to a new provider. I called to find out when his fixed rate expired and the representative told me that he was welcome to switch providers and that his fixed rate was expired. He went ahead and switched and they sent him a $150 early disconnect bill. Suffice it to say he didnt pay. I called scana repeatedly to explain the situation. I talked to managers who assured me that the bill would be taken care of and not to worry. Two years later it shows up on his credit report as a collection that hadnt been paid month after month. Scana has single handedly tanked his perfect credit through lies and deception. Thank you Scana. You really treat our vets with the respect that they deserve.

    Blamed the Customer for Failed Disconnect Request

     After the final closing on our old home, I called the next day and requested gas cut-off. I was told the service would be disconnected in a few days and we would receive one final bill, which we did and we paid it. Then we got another bill the next month. Turns out they never shut off the gas or closed the account. When I called they refused to accept responsibility and wipe the bill from our account. Claimed that I "disconnected the call" before the request was complete. What??? Why on earth would I do that? They claimed that they had a recording that "proved" the call was disconnected. I asked could there have been a glitch in their system. They told me NO. Really? That's not at all possible? After years and years of paying every bill on time, they couldn't work with me to wipe this erroneous charge from our account. Customer blaming. Take responsibility. Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and Georgia Public Service Commission.
