A no commitment natural gas plan, especially with a cheap intro rate, offers a different path. In fact, this month an introductory plan might be your best deal for natural gas in Georgia.

Who Should Go with an Introductory Gas Deal?

According to the EIA, January and February were colder than normal and took a bite out of our gas storage numbers. Couple that with widespread unease in markets across the board and you get relatively high natural gas rates this month.

So, many people may be looking for a no commitment plan, hoping prices drop for the fall shoulder months. Likewise, some consumers may be in a tight spot with their credit. In that case, a short-term solution or even a pre-paid plan could be just what you need.

So, let’s check out a few plans that might interest you!

Intro Natural Gas Plans with No Commitment

First, we’ll look at three plans with cheap intro rates and no commitment. However, keep in mind that after the introductory term, rates for these plans will go up to the providers’ standard variable rates.

With the cheapest intro rate, we have the Gas South Intro Variable plan at $0.390 per therm for one month. For more money saving details, there is $20 in bill credits, no ETF, and no deposit. The monthly charge is $6.95-$9.95. According to the PSC, this provider’s standard variable rate this month is $1.99 per therm.

Next it’s the Georgia Natural Gas® Market Intro plan at $0.499 per therm for 2 months. Bonuses on this plan include no monthly charge, a fixed contract exit fee up to $200, and no ETF.  According to the PSC, the provider’s standard variable rate this month is $2.269.

Lastly, the Scana Energy Introductory Variable Rate plan has a $0.599 per therm rate for one month. You can also look forward to $5 bill credits on your first 20 bills and no ETF. But, there is a $5.95 monthly charge. According to the PSC, the provider’s standard variable rate this month is $2.019.

Pre Paid Deal for No Commitment with Credit Issues

Finally, let’s check out some details of a plan for people who are working on their credit. It’s the Georgia Natural Gas® Pre Pay at $2.119 per therm. On this plan, you get a $0.15 per therm discount for 12 months. The plan has no deposit, but you must pre pay for your first month of gas. New customers can get a $40 credit on their second bill. After 6 months, you may be eligible for a $3 per month credit. After 12 months, you may be eligible to switch to a fixed rate plan.
