Natural gas companies<\/a> have various charges in their Terms of Service (TOS). We\u2019ll cover some of the most common charges and what you can do to avoid them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early termination:<\/strong> charge to end your fixed rate service early. Stick with your plan to avoid this charge unless the savings with another plan outweigh it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is more information in the TOS that can affect you outside of the charges listed above. Make sure to look out for these items, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deposit:<\/strong> a supplier can collect a deposit for new or existing customers. Minimize or avoid a deposit with good credit and payment histories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right of rescission:<\/strong> a brief period when you can cancel your plan without paying a charge. In Georgia, customers have 3 days to cancel after they receive the contract from their supplier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agreement termination and expiration:<\/strong> details about what happens at the end of the term of a fixed rate plan. Many suppliers automatically enroll you in a new plan.
